2. In some cases, rod mill can perform crushing instead of short head cone crusher. When processing soft or low-hardness ore, rod mill can grind 19-25mm (even 30mm) ore into 6-10mm. It is more simple and more cost-saving than the closed combination of short head cone crusher and separator, and moreover it simplifies the dust removal in ore-breaking workshop. However, short head cone crusher combining closely with separator is more economical when processing hard ore.
